RH Rooftop

Tell me what comes to mind about when I mention chandeliers, boxwood, marble and Rosé?… Anything?.......OK! let me help you.  Restoration Hardware Rooftop Restaurant, otherwise known RH Rooftop NYC, its an elevated (figuratively and literally) restaurant located in the Meatpacking District of NYC but there are many located in major cities across the country.  And I just have share with you the kind of ambiance, enjoyment, and delectableness (still so extra!) you experience when you eat there.  Now I would be lying if I said I went there for research purposes just so I could come back and tell you about the service, food and environment.  So I won’t, I found out about this place while scouring the rh.com website because for some reason I decided to cyber stalk furniture that cost more than five months’ rent- but I hear it’s good, so maybe we will review that another time.

The Décor

To get to the restaurant, you’ll have to walk through to the middle of the showroom and enter the elevator that takes you straight to the top of the building.  When I say elevator, I don’t mean the basic lift box that we all know.  The all glass elevator allows for a 360 view to each showroom floor featuring all the overly priced high-end furniture some of us would like to have in our homes (you don’t have to hide it, it’s just me and you).  I mean who wouldn’t want to buy furniture on the way to fill an empty stomach- it takes don’t go shopping on an empty stomach to a whole new level.  And then the doors open, this where the chandeliers, the boxwood and the marble come in.  Think a slightly French Parisian living room with a skyline view, that’s literally lit because the level of light is stunning even on a cloudy day.  The ambiance is just next level, the amount of elegant detail that went into the décor is perfect.  The dried boxwood is placed around the restaurant creating a outdoor vibe as well as behind each marble dining table creating a modern take on dining room without feeling extra.  But don’t forget to look up because you just might miss the colossal chandeliers that are obviously the jewelry pieces of this place. If you’re anything like me and you like shiny things (I mean without giving off Smeagol vibes) you will be happy.  I will also mention there is an outdoor section but all the times I have been to the Rooftop it’s been either closed or limited due to weather or staffing, the big panini remember?

The Food

If you haven’t figured it out now, I like to eat, I have a healthy appetite, but my palate is sensitive. I have an appreciation for well flavored meals that cause my taste buds to dance.  I’m not reviewing based on one encounter, not even two…. let’s just say I have been to this restaurant enough times to have it on heavy rotation  So, when I say it’s good, its good.  Brunch, lunch, and dinner are full of many of the same options but depending on the time of day, you can be selective about your choices.  There is the Prosciutto & Délice (basically a charcuterie board), Ribeye, lobster rolls, and one of my favorites the broiled salmon and let me not forget the truffle fries.  And if your love for truffles is the same as mine you’ll finish the whole bowl.  And I hope you didn’t think I forgot about the beverages, there’s your choice of sparkling water, mimosas, and the variations of wines but the Rosé (the Daou to be exact) is so on point that I wanted to have more- which I did.   I’m no wine expert but there was slight sweetness with a light air in it’s flavor, just perfect.

To top off all my experiences and part of the reason why I keep going back, it’s plain and simple- the service.  The service has been excellent each time I’ve made way there, and it didn’t matter if was lunch or dinner, the attention, the food recommendations, and the courteousness was always appreciated.  I mean what more could you ask for?

Well, would you go to the RH Rooftop NYC or any of the other locations?  Let me know.
